Historic world events: Second Punic war
The Second Punic War started in 218 B.C. It was again between Ancient Carthage and the Roman Republic. Both sides of this war also had crucial help from Numidian-Berber armies and tribes, and other combatants from the western and eastern Mediterranean. Ancient Carthage and the Roman Republic had a troubled existence living in the same world together, therefore the Second Punic War started. During the war, it looked as though the Roman Republic was going to lose because of Hannibal's skill. Sadly, though, the Roman Republic turned the war around and won in 201 B.C. As a result, the Roman Republic imposed very harsh peace conditions on Carthage as punishment.
